What is CIDA?
Certified Investments and Derivatives Auditor (CIDA).
ITCI is the proud sponsor of the highly specialized certification program for investment auditors called the Certified Investments and Derivatives Auditor (CIDA). The program’s curriculum demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning which is essential in this complex audit field.
In addition to passing the CIDA exam, candidates must satisfy educational requirements and specialized work experience in order to qualify for the CIDA designation. The combined professional experience with the required educational base creates a foundation for audit excellence in one of the most highly material audit areas.
The CIDA exam is administered in a multiple choice format and has an established time limit of four hours. The exam content is divided into two distinct sections: 1) Understanding the Investment and Derivative Structures, and 2) Auditing the Risks and Controls of Investment and Derivative Activity. The exam is administered at the candidate’s company under proctor supervision.
ITCI has published a study guide for the CIDA exam, which covers the subject matter of the CIDA “Common Body of Knowledge” and also contains numerous sample questions. The guide will help CIDA candidates study for this comprehensive exam and serve as a reference for future investments and derivatives audits. The comprehensive guide of over 400 pages, written by Barbara Davison, is brimming with investment and derivative auditing material. The cost for the CIDA study guide is $US 260 for domestic shipping and $320 for international shipping (inclusive of shipping and handling).
Achieving the CIDA provides significant credibility to your investment and derivative audit experience. The CIDA certification identifies the skill-set and comprehension necessary of a highly qualified investments and derivatives auditor. It is a specialized certification, globally recognized as an emblem of professional excellence.
