ITCI was founded by Barbara Davison in 1997, as a company dedicated to training and assisting auditors in conducting their investments and derivatives audits through a very popular and successful co-sourcing arrangement with internal audit. Over the last two decades, ITCI has been globally recognized as the company that has developed the niche expertise in this highly complicated area and has consulted or trained for over 1,000 companies in various industries including energy, metals, agriculture, banking, insurance, manufacturing, mining etc.

In 2001, ITCI began sponsoring the highly specialized certification program for investment auditors called the Certified Investments and Derivatives Auditor (CIDA). The CIDA certification identifies the skill-set and understanding necessary for a highly qualified investments and derivatives auditor. It is a specialized certification that is globally recognized as an emblem of professional excellence.
